How much does mould removal cost in the UK? (2026 guide)
Updated 6 November 2026 · By the Mould Cleaning team
Typical prices
| Job | Typical UK price (2026) |
|---|---|
| Mould cleaning, single wall or small area | £150 to £250 |
| Mould cleaning and treatment, one room | £200 to £400 |
| Bathroom mould clean including resealing | £250 to £450 |
| Several rooms or half a house | £400 to £1,600 |
| Whole house mould treatment | £700 to £3,000 |
| Mould or damp inspection | £100 to £300 |
| Bathroom extractor fan supplied and fitted | £200 to £450 |
These are typical guide prices. Your actual price depends on the size and number of areas affected, how deep the mould has gone, whether sealant or finishes need replacing, access and where in the UK the property is.
What affects the price
- Total area of mould and how many rooms are affected
- Surface type, as porous plaster and wood take more work than tiles
- Whether silicone sealant needs cutting out and replacing
- Anti-mould painting and redecoration afterwards
- High ceilings and stairwells that need access equipment
- Whether an inspection or damp survey is needed to find the cause
Cleaning is only half the job
Mould returns if the moisture is still there. Budget for the fix as well as the clean, whether that is better extraction, more consistent heating, repairing a leak or treating penetrating damp. Fixing the cause is often what saves money in the long run.
How to get an accurate price
Send clear photos of each affected area, rough measurements, and a note of where in the property it is and how long it has been there. That is enough for a fixed price in most cases.
